Rice with beans and peas from the garden

a good dish to start feeding in the diet of little kids to eat vegetables! :)

INGREDIENTS

  1. 200 grs. Short grain rice
  2. 150 grs. of broad beans
  3. 80 grs. of fresh peas
  4. Chicken broth or water
  5. 1 red onion, finely chopped
  6. 2 cloves garlic, sliced
  7. 1/2 green pepper, finely chopped
  8. Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  9. A pinch of ground cumin
  10. Olive oil
  11. 1 Tbsp. turmeric
  12. 1 bay leaf

PREPARATION

For the amount of rice will use approximately 600 ml. broth or water, which will in a saucepan over medium heat until it starts to boil.
Meanwhile, sauté in a large pan with a good splash of olive oil, chopped onion, pepper and spent a few minutes add the garlic to brown together. Then add the bay leaf, a teaspoonful of turmeric, cumin, beans, peas and season generously, cover and let cook a few minutes to become tender. You must be careful not to burn monitor, adding a little hot broth from the saucepan.
Now comes the point that I like the recipe, when we add the rice, we will skip to take all the flavor and aroma of the sauce, this will mark the final flavor to the dish.
